City of Austin's Historic Cemeteries Master Plan Wins National Award

Rockefeller Center, NYC

What an honor!

AmaTerra had the opportunity to take the stage at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan (yes... that Manhattan) earlier this week to attend the 2017 National Planning Achievement Awards luncheon. AmaTerra was invited to take the stage with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department's Project Manager and Preservationist, Kim McKnight to receive the 2017 National Achievement Award Gold in the Urban Design category for the City's Historic Cemeteries Master Plan project. With AmaTerra serving as the City's prime contractor on the project, we were so excited to have the chance to come along and take part.

This is the FOURTH award the Master Plan has received and it really doesn't get old at all...

Thank you very, very, very much, American Planning Association for the honor and to the City of Austin - and Kim McKnight in particular - for giving us the opportunity to participate in the project and the accolades it has received.

See the video of all of the winners below... Note: they saved the best (in our totally humble opinion) for last so if you want to skip right to the Cemetery Master Plan, scroll toward the end.
